About the publication

In 2015, we invented and have since developed Insulated Solar Electric Cooking (ISEC) whereby a solar panel is directly connected to an insulated, electrically-heated cookpot. The aims of this project are to improve the design, share knowledge with African partners, collaboratively disseminate the technology, and study the technology adoption process. Our dissemination model is to support local enterprises in constructing and innovating ISEC products for local sale. Our efforts and finances are leveraged by student participation in service-learning classes and in the laboratory as part of their education.
